Vacation

Today it is going to be 66 degrees here. It may not sound like much to many of you, but to a NJ girl even with a mild winter, it sounds like heaven to me. It means no heavy coats, no mittens or hats to keep on two kids and it means we can go visit our dear old friend, the park.

What that means is that spring is right around the corner,(hopefully!) and we may get a chance to go away on vacation. In the past all of our vacations have taken us to Florida where E’s parents and one of his sisters live. Florida is great for kids because, well, you all know why.
NJ has terrific beaches and we always frequent those every summer, they have family friendly things to do for kids of all ages.

I am looking for something new, a new destination and a new adventure.
Somewhere that is great for adults as well as my two four year old children.

I am going to have to ask Jill at family trip deals, she has amazing ways to save money on any vacation and the pictures she posts make you want to pack your bags right away!

Where do you go for family vacations? Are there any places you just love for family friendly getaways or events?

Hi Erinn! It’s 61 degrees here and it feels like shorts weather! How do you go from 30 below zero to 61 in a matter of a month or so??? I love to take my kids to Yellowstone. There is a lot to see if you take the side roads and trails. The last time we went we had so much fun taking the road less traveled that we didn’t even make it to Old Faithful! I LOVE taking them to the Playmill Theater in West Yellowstone when we’re there as well. It’s so funny and there is so much talent. Makes them all wasnt to be little actors!

My son was only three the first time we took him to the beach in S.C. He was so sad the following year when we couldn’t go. This year we are going again and what’s ideal about our situation is that we will be staying in my SIL’s beach house, which is just two rows back from the beach and it has its own pool. Hotels are nice, but there’s nothing better than feeling as if you are home away from home.

Jill We have never been there so that is an idea.
DD, That is so true, a nice house with a pool right next to the beach? Priceless!
