Halloween Tips and Safety
I have some tips and tricks for Halloween with your kids this year. We also want to keep kids safe this time of year especially those that are old enough to trick or treat alone so we will also talk about safety.
Don’t want to give out candy for Halloween? How about giving out juice boxes or kid sized waters? Try stickers or other craft items and if you have any leftovers put them into your child’s craft box for a rainy day. The other thing I have seen lately, which I love, is the mini playdoh containers. Although the older kids may rather have candy!
Have too much candy leftover every year? Send it to my house! Just kidding but how about saving it for gingerbread houses, homemade cookies or for gift bags for upcoming birthday parties?
Don’t want your kids to eat too much junk this Halloween? Buy it back with a small toy, coloring books or craft. “Buy” your children’s candy after they have had as much as you want them to and give them a small toy or other treat in exchange.
Let us make sure we keep our kids safe this Halloween. If you don’t like your neighborhood try your local malls. Many of them have indoor trick or treating for kids of all ages.
-Have your kids wear light colored clothing or carry a flashlight for safety.
-Make sure you know where they will be.
-Tell them to not eat anything until they get home and have an adult inspect it. Especially for kids with food allergies!
-Remind kids to only cross at crosswalks and to look both ways while crossing the street.
Do you have any parent tricks or tips on what to give out on Halloween night or how to keep kids safe?
