Stand For Integrity

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

bwi_125sqLately I have been reading about the “mom” blogging issue that is known now as “Blog-ola”. Apparently many bloggers are writing anything for swag, and even cash.
Moms are the ones who do the most shopping and loyal brand buying in most households. They are a huge influence and companies want them to blog about their products.
I think it is great- to a point. I see many bloggers who have random blogs and write about anything and everything.
I get most of my great recommendations on the newest or tried and true great products from my fellow moms but you can tell when a blogger is just writing posts to get free stuff.

I do not and will not buy something from a recommendation that I think or know someone is being paid to say.

Blog With Integrity, is a result that is needed for blog reform.
From their site: “The Blog with Integrity pledge recognizes that there’s no single right way to blog and more than enough room in the world for different approaches.
What matters is the relationship with our readers. Meeting our commitment to them and to our community. Clear disclosure of our interests so they can evaluate our words. Treating others with respect. Taking responsibility for our words and actions.”

I signed the pledge and you can see my button in my sidebar.
That being said, I wanted to make clear my personal blogging policies. I have never taken anything (cash or a product) to write a positive review about a product.
I often receive products to review and if I do, I say so in my post.
I never do paid posts.
I do not take many products to review, only the ones I feel are a good fit for my blog and readers. I never post a review of something I (or my children) haven’t tried out, and I will always give you the pros as well as the cons in my reviews.

I aks you to join with me and blog with integrity. Let’s make it known to companies that we cannot be bought with a $5 sample.
Don’t frequent blogs that post for payments.
Stand up for yourself as well as for me.

MY Motherload

ml

I have such exciting news for you. I am thrilled to announce that I am one of a few Moms chosen for the “Range/Microwave Test Drive Team” for Frigidaire! Thanks to Frigidaire and Mom Central, I get a brand new stainless range and microwave from Frigidair’s brilliant new collection with more than 250 kitchen and laundry appliances, that they rolled out just in time for Mother’s Day!
They designed these high-performance products with easy-to-use, time-saving features to give Moms more free time away from the kitchen and laundry room.
Who couldn’t use more free time?

When we moved from NJ to NH a few months ago I traded in my all new kitchen for a older kitchen whose appliances all needed upgrading. I brought my refrigerator and my Frigidaire dishwasher (which I love, BTW), but my kitchen can use a little help.

Frigidaire recently conducted a survey to get a window into moms’ lives. The Frigidaire Motherload Index revealed that Moms log more overtime than most Americans. The index found that moms spend most of their waking lives – 200 hours each month, in fact – doing the activities we least enjoy rather than the things we love. And yet the majority of us say we “rarely” or “never” feel caught up on our household tasks. Frigidaire kept all of this in mind when designing their new appliances. With new features such as a six-minute PowerPlus™ preheat time on their ovens, a Quick Clean dishwashing cycle that cuts the time it takes in half to clean our dishes, the Fits-More™ Dryer that allows us to dry the whole family’s clothes at once, and TimeWise™ technology to make the dryer and washing cycle equal, we can have enough time to watch our favorite shows—or even better—get a manicure!

Frigidaire has so much confidence in the efficiency of these products that they are offering a “More Me-Time” Guarantee: Moms will reduce the amount of time they typically spend on housework by at least 8 hours a month using a combination of three or more select Frigidaire appliances or they can return the appliances to their place of purchase within 30 days and get their money back!
How can you lose?

What I am giving to you:
I will be posting my personal experience with using, cooking and cleaning my new appliances
I will post pictures of my before and after kitchen
I will post videos (I am sure embarrassing ones) of my experiences using these amazing appliances.

What I will be testing out:

Frigidaire also wants to know what you would do if you had an extra hour of blissful “me-time”. Starting today, moms can go to Frigidaire.com to report the five things you would do with an extra hour each day.

All participants will be entered for a chance to win an entire suite of NEW Frigidaire appliances. Plus, check out other prizes you can win – like a gorgeous new Frigidaire Affinity washer/dryer.
You can also become a fan of their new facebook page and keep up with what Moms are doing with an extra hour a day!

Remember to check back often for more updates, pictures and video of These great Frigidaire appliances!

Photo Contest!

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Do you have a ton of pictures on your computer of your family, like I have? I think all parents do and we are all looking for new things to do with them. Sending emails with pictures in them, printing them out and sending them to family and friends, been there done that.
Now there is a something new to do with all the pictures taking up space on that computer of yours.

Greetingflix is a new web site that allows you to take your pictures and make them into a little movie or slide show complete with music. Great for a new baby announcement, Mother’s Day or just to say “I am thinking of you”.
I have tried this out and sent some flix to my mother and my husband and at least one of those people admitting to crying when they watched the movie. It was also very easy to do.

They also have pro memberships which have even more templates for your movie to chose from, AND 1 Gigabyte storage for your pictures. Now you can even add your flix to your myspace page. How great is that?

Because I think this site is new and different, the nice people at greetingflix are giving me five free pro memberships to give away to you guys, my faithful readers.

Here is what you can do to win a year of pro membership to greetingflix:

-On your blog, post your favorite picture. It could be your favorite picture of your child, a silly picture from the 80s, a picture of your home renovations, what ever picture you really love.

-in the post link back to this web site and greetingflix.com

-finally comment here and let me know you have entered. I want to be able to visit all of your site’s and see the great pictures you guys are putting up.

Good luck!

*New*

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

I am going to have a few new features every month for you, my dear readers.
First we are going to have milestones and development based on baby/child’s age once a week. We will talk about what to look for, what to expect and how to tell if your child is going to be the next Albert Einstein.
Ok, well, not the last part.

Then we are going to have a “Ask a Mom” feature. Have a question about finding the right pediatrician, how to make your kids stop talking so darn much, why your child will not eat anything but Cheerios, or when should you take your child to the dentist? Well, submit it to me by clicking that contact me button on the right hand side of the page. I will help you answer any question or problems you are having and if I cannot answer it I promise to find a Mom who can.
I have lots of smart Mommy friends.

Just not as smart as me, of course.

Again, if you have a product that you would like me to review, drop me a line at tuesdayDOTgirlATgmail.com

So there you go, two new features for Parenting Our Children.
It doesn’t get more exciting then this, does it?

Stuff I Love

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

We are going to have a new feature on this site! Twice a month we are going to have a “Stuff I Love” posting about what I am enamored with, and I am usually singing the praises of something or another mommy related, so why not share?

First up, I LOVE these dresses. They are made from vintage pillowcases and delicately made into a little dress for your little one.
I think it is just darling and what a cute idea. It is unique and adorable and I think makes a great gift for a new baby or for a birthday.
The sizing goes from 6 months all the way up to 4T.

It is something I have never seen in stores and you can be sure nobody is going to have the same dress as your little one.

Do you have something you would like to review? Send me an email and let me know.

Welcome!

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Welcome to parenting our children!

My goal for this site is to entertain my readers with personal stories of parenting as well as share stories, tips and advice from other parents.

My name is Erinn, and I am a stay at home mother to three year old boy/girl twins,   L & R.

I was born and raised in northern New Jersey but relocated to south New Jersey three years ago.  I have been married for six years to a wonderful man, E.

Many Moms feel that they cannot share their parenting disasters, insecurrities and faults for fear of not being a “perfect” Mom.

We should share our successes and joys as well as our faults to not only help one another other but also to support each other on this journey of parenthood.

I think we can all agree, it is a hell of a ride.

About Parenting Children

We are everything parenting from what to do with that new baby they let you come home from the hospital with to why won't the hospital take my teenager back? Together lets find out how to raise great kids and come out alive!
