Candy
My kids had such a great time trick or treating yesterday. We visited some of our neighbor friends and then my husband took the kids for a long journey and they came home with huge amounts with candy.
The candy policy in my house is: some candy for the adults from time to time, none for the children. We are big hypocrites I know!
If they get some candy from their grandparents or at a party they can have it. Treats are great in moderation.
Now we are faced with massive amount of candy in my house and I can’t throw it away. I also don’t want to eat it.
So tell me, what you do with your extra candy?

I guess if I couldn’t eat it, I would look into a few of the dentists who are actually “buying back” candy. Recently, one story promoted $1 per pound of candy. Then you could put the money into the kids’ piggy banks.

DD, I have never heard of dentists doing that. What a great idea. They should at least do a fair trade of candy for toothbrushes, paste and floss!

We only give our two year old son candy on Saturdays. Needless to say, Saturday is a big day in our house. My husband keeps the candy in a big bag in his closet and picks out an assortment for our son to have for the whole day. We figured we’d just stash the Halloween booty along with the Saturday candy and dole it out as long as it’s fresh.

That is a great idea Maria. Then he will knwo that candy is only for one day a week and you won’t have to hear begging like I do everyday!
